say..........one final point on this topic and I am as guilty as you are in falling into the trap of thinking this is about the quality of health care in America when in fact we all know it is about one thing: the dems gaining political power by expanding govt. quality of healthcare has little, if anything, to do with the matter.........wouldn't you agree? watch this universal "free" healthcare to be the cornerstone of the dem's illegal immigration reform push.

not sure what i am referring to??? so, if you don't think real tort reform, increased competition, increased medicare fraud auditing, expanded use of HSA accounts and keeping health insurance in the private sector (x medicare) doesn't "change anything" then we don't need to discuss this topic any longer. equally unimpressed with both plans danny.......wow! you got your tremendously liberal plan and from what your team is saying it is only the beginning.........you should be happy.

I'm really not sure what you're referring to... I just blasted the health care bill and I'm spouting liberal propaganda? I'll admit health care is the one issue I'm tremendously liberal on but just because I don't like the Republican plan doesn't mean I'm trying to take partisan cheap shots.

To answer your question about the Republican plan, it doesn't change anything. Refer back to my list of reasons why health care costs are out of control and tell me how it addresses any of those near the top? Health care needs a full blown reform and not a band-aid approach. Not to mention, coverage is a serious issue and needs to be addressed. I read the House GOP plan and was equally as unimpressed as the plan that passed. The only difference is the cost (which I'm not underestimating but simply want a good plan rather than trying to decide the better of two bad plans).

I still say the German health care model is what we should be seeking. It fits our system well and addresses both cost and coverage. As much of a free market advocate as I am, I maintain that it just doesn't work in health care because of the ten reasons listed above. Government needs to regulate the industry by creating a level playing field and protecting individual rights but keeping the industry open for competition and free of inefficiencies. The German system does just that and is what I'd like to see transitioned into our way of providing care.

you just can't help yourself, can you danny? didn't know you could get your daily dose of PMS-NBC even in Costa Rica. just exactly what don't you like about the republican alternative? i am beginning to think you slip those zingers into your posts just to get my attention (you think I don't read these things?). i like facts, not Olberman/Madow/Matthews sound bites. by the way, the "most Americans" you site as being surprised how little this affects them are the ones who don't pay taxes.......come to think about it, that is most Americans these days and, growing by the way. well.........you guys got the change you could believe in.....how do you like it? for what it is worth, this may very well be Armageddon or, as your VP whispered to the community organizer in chief, certainly a big fxxxxxing deal.
